Cookie
policy

The boring truth about the cookies this site uses — what they are, why they're here, and how to make them go away. There aren't many.

Cookie Policy Updated October 2026
The short version

In one breath

One functional cookie

It remembers you dismissed the banner. That's the whole list of first-party cookies.

Basic analytics

Aggregate page views — which pages get read. Nothing that identifies you.

Block them freely

Your browser can kill cookies anytime; the site still works fine.

What cookies we use

This site keeps it simple. There's one functional cookie (or rather, a localStorage entry) that remembers you clicked 'no worries' on the cookie banner, so it doesn't pop up every visit. That's it for first-party stuff — no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting nonsense.

Analytics

We use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to see which pages get read and which ones people leave from. It's aggregate numbers — how many visits, which pages — not who you are. We use it to work out whether anyone reads the blog. (They do. We're as surprised as you.)

Controlling cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies anytime — the setting is usually under Privacy or Site Settings. Blocking them won't break anything on this site; the only thing you'll notice is the cookie banner showing up again each visit. Which is fair enough, honestly.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add more cookies — say, an embedded video service or a booking widget — we'll update this page and the banner will tell you before it sets anything new. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.

Questions?

Legal pages are boring but this one's written by humans. Anything unclear — ask.
