Service 02 — Measurement

Dyno tuning with
the graphs to prove it.

Baseline runs, a health check, then a calibration dialled in run by run on our AWD dyno. You leave with printed graphs and a plain-English explanation of what changed — no smoke, no mirrors.

The job, properly

Why every job starts on the rollers

A dyno does two jobs here. First, it's a health check — a car that makes 15% less than it should has a problem, and strapping it down finds things a code scan misses: lazy boost control, a fuel pump losing pressure at the top end, a slipping clutch.

Second, it's the proof. Anyone can claim a tune made 'heaps more power'. We print the before curve and the after curve on the same sheet, so the claim has a number attached.

Book the cell by the hour for diagnosis, a power run to settle an argument, or a full custom tune session with runs logged until it's right.

Full-day sessionFor big builds and race cars — as many runs as it takes$1,450
Club / group dayYour car club books the cell — per-car power runs, BBQ optional$220/car

Hourly rate applies after booked session time. If your car can't be safely run (tyres, leaks, loose bits), we stop and fix first — the clock's honest too.

Step by step

What a session looks like

Straps down, fans on, laptop out. Here's the play-by-play.

Ask about yours
Step 01
Strap down

The car gets tied to the cell floor and the big fans go on. This is the loud part — you'll watch from behind the safety glass.

Step 02
Warm-up & checks

Tyre pressures, fluid levels, engine temp. A cold engine lies on a dyno — we don't log a run until the numbers are real.

Step 03
Baseline pulls

Two or three runs to establish where the car actually is. This is also where hidden problems usually announce themselves.

Step 04
Tune & repeat

Adjust, run, log, repeat. Each run adds information — we're chasing a shape of curve, not just a peak number.

Step 05
Print & explain

You get the graphs and a straight explanation: what moved, why it moved, and what the car would want next.

Who does the work

Run by a bloke who
reads graphs for fun

Dmitri runs every dyno session personally. After six thousand-odd runs he can read a power curve the way most people read a headline — where the boost comes in, where the fueling goes lean, where the tune is lying to you.

And because he tunes the cars too, the diagnosis doesn't get lost in translation between a dyno operator and a tuner. Same bloke, same session.

Questions

Dyno questions

Something else on your mind? Ring +61 2 4961 8527 — quickest answer is still the phone.

From behind the safety glass, yeah — the cell gets loud and things occasionally let go at speed on the rollers. You see every run live, and we talk you through the data straight after.

Factory figures are at the crank on an engine dyno. Ours are at the wheels through your driveline — expect 15–25% less on paper, same car in reality. We'll explain the conversion when we hand over the sheets.

It helps. Fresh plugs, decent fuel, tyres that aren't cords. If the baseline run shows a problem we'll tell you before spending your session time chasing ghosts.

The cell handles AWD, RWD and FWD. Lifted 4WDs fit fine. Extremely low cars need a heads-up when booking so we can sort the approach ramps.

Three pulls on a healthy car is less stress than an hour of hard driving. A car that's about to fail might show it on the rollers — but it was about to fail anyway, and better here than on the highway.
