Refunds &
consumer rights
How refunds and warranty claims actually work here — deposits, parts, jobs that go wrong, and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply no matter what any fine print says.
In one breath
ACL first
Consumer guarantees apply to every job — repair, redo or refund as the law says.
Deposits come back
Cancel 48+ hours out, full refund. Inside that, we only deduct real costs.
Our fault = our cost
If the fault traces to our workmanship, the whole fix is free for 12 months.
Your consumer rights first
Under the Australian Consumer Law, services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for purpose, and be delivered within a reasonable time. If a job we do fails those guarantees, you're entitled to a remedy — repair, redo, or refund depending on how big the failure is. These rights can't be signed away, and we wouldn't want them to be.
Deposits
Cancel a booking more than 48 hours before the slot and the deposit comes back in full, no arguing. Inside 48 hours, or after parts have been ordered specifically for your job, we may deduct the cost of the parts and the blocked-out workshop time — but we'll show you what was spent and refund the rest.
Parts returns
Unopened, unused parts we supplied can come back within 30 days for a refund minus any supplier restocking fee — some suppliers charge one and we'll tell you upfront if yours does. Electrical parts, special orders and anything made-to-measure (custom exhaust sections, cut-to-length lines) can't be returned once they've been made or fitted, which is standard across the trade.
If our work goes wrong
Bring it back or ring us — +61 2 4961 8527. If the fault is ours, the fix is free: parts, labour, everything. If it's urgent and you're not near the shop, call first before taking it elsewhere — we'll sort out the fairest way to handle it. The 12-month workmanship warranty covers the job we did; it doesn't cover unrelated faults, wear items, or what happens when someone else modifies our work.
How to claim
Email speedtuningshop@gmail.com or call the shop with your invoice number and what's going on. Photos or a short video of the problem help a lot. We aim to respond within one business day and resolve straightforward claims within a week — complex ones take as long as a proper diagnosis takes, and we'll keep you posted either way.
If you're not satisfied with how we handle it, you can contact the Queensland Office of Fair Trading or take the matter to QCAT. We'd rather fix it than meet you there.
